Our Philosophy
The Early Learning Centre of Margaret River would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of these Lands from across Western Australia, including those on which our centre stands, Wadandi Boodja. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the cultures and the hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures across the state.
We believe in equality and respect for diversity. Within our community, we acknowledge and extend upon various cultures, events, traditions and languages that may be present.
As a part of our inclusion beliefs, we identify each child as a unique and capable individual. We explore their capabilities and strengths through listening to their voices and effectively extending on them. Every child comes with their own ideas and opinions. We acknowledge these through quality conversations and interactions, ensuring each child feels safe, secure, and welcome to explore their thoughts and aspirations. We commit to offering your child a kindergarten community where they can explore the joy of childhood in their own time, in their own way. There is no rush to grow up at ELC and we ensure there is magic to be found, friendships to be forged and memorable moments to be made for every child.
We believe each child’s family knows their child best, and our family of educators will work in partnership with children’s families to provide the best outcomes for all. By connecting with ourselves (through dance, music, art or physical play), exploring a variety of experiences, and participating in things which resonate with us, children begin to shape the person they will grow up to be.
Our passionate educators provide creative and enriching educational curriculums for all children. They engage in personal and professional development to continuously extend their current knowledge and teaching practices. This ensures we nurture quality relationships, interactions, learning opportunities and environments for your children.
Open communication and strong relationships between educators and families aim to provide a supportive connection from home to The Early Learning Centre of Margaret River. We value the input provided by each family member and it is used to support the educational program and environment. “In any given moment we have two options; to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.” Abraham Maslow
