Operational Information

The Centre is open 50 weeks of the year, from 7:45 am – 5:30 pm, closing for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. The Centre is also closed on public holidays.

Child Care Subsidy

The Child Care Subsidy is the main way the Government assists families with their child care fees. The Child Care Subsidy is generally paid directly to service providers to be passed on to families as a fee reduction. Families make a co-contribution to their child care fees and pay to the provider the difference between the fee charged and the subsidy amount. Nutrition And Meals

Morning tea and afternoon tea are provided daily. On enrolment, we will email a lunch box guide to assist families in packing a nutritious and healthy meal. Our centre is nut-free and can accommodate children with allergies and food intolerances.

Routines

Daily routines play a crucial role in children’s lives by providing a sense of security and belonging within their care and learning environments. If a child and their family have specific needs, educators can adapt and incorporate these needs into the daily schedule. Routines help children emotionally prepare for upcoming changes and offer comfort by allowing them to know “what’s next.”

Each room has its own routine which is guided by the child’s developmental age/stage, the needs of the individual child and family input. As children are constantly changing, the routine is flexible to allow it to flow with the children.

The daily routines are displayed in each room which is a guide for the day. These routines are reflected upon regularly and changed when required to adapt to the needs of the children.

Clothing

The clothing children wear while in care significantly influences the quality of their experiences, affecting their health, safety, comfort, play, and learning. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the day’s activities. If you would like a copy of our Clothing Policies, please ask the Centre.

Rest Time

All children are given the opportunity to sleep, rest, or engage in quiet activities after lunch, allowing their bodies to wind down and relax. Please inform us if your child has specific sleep requirements so we can accommodate their needs and reflect your home environment.

Communication

We want our families to feel involved in their children’s experiences at ELC Margaret River and to see us as an extension of their families.

We use OWNA to share your child’s early learning journey and centre-related communication. The family sign-in area also displays a range of information. Most importantly, our wonderful team is available to share information about your child’s day.

We are dedicated to keeping you connected and informed about your child’s experiences at ELC Margaret River.
